We also got to do a little practical workshop creating our own small sketchbooks.

We were split into groups and had to do a swat analysis on a report. Our group had the Creative Industries and Climate Change, how they are working towards Net Zero carbon footprint. A call to action report led by NESTA.

I think most of us have heard of Quentin Blake and enjoyed his illustrations, if only from his illustrations of Roald Dahl’s stories.
A day out of college and a chance to see an exhibition of his work at Weston Museum.






I really loved seeing his sketches and illustrations close up and a better understanding of how he built them up from initial idea to the final illustration.

Understanding more about what actually falls under the Creative Industries umbrella and what opportunities are out there for those of us who wish to make a living out of being creative, the supporting industries, also the consideration of ethics and sustainability as a creative practitioner. This module is wordy and research based with visits from guest lecturers.
