Outside of University I do ceramics just to unwind and create without an agenda. The past few weeks have been very busy and I made the mistake of not keeping my hollowed our clay box, for want of a better word, dampened down. I was feeling really despondent, when it was suggested to me that I should use the tools and carve into it. This is what I have started to do and I don’t usually record my work outside of uni on my blog, however, I think it’s probably time I did. I only have about 8 months before I am finished my degree and will need a portfolio of something to show alongside my degree work.

So here it is, a brief explanation post – but this is what my horses head looks like at the moment.

It’s all being done on feel, I’m using a reference photograph of a foal to base it on.

It needs to have more of a roman nose to be more of a likeness to this chap. As well as the big ears and little tufty mohican.
